Deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Lieutenant-General Sultan Jamal Aldinov announced that the situation in his country is stable and under control.
"The situation on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is stabilizing and under the control of the authorities," the Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted Jamal Aldinov as saying in a joint statement today with Andrei Serdyukov, commander of the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization has sent peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan with the aim of protecting the country's administrative and diplomatic buildings and helping the army maintain law and order, as the Kazakh security forces are conducting a large-scale anti-terror operation in the country to establish stability and security.
