The reports did not indicate whether there was a shortage of medicines • The owner of the clinic responded by launching shrapnel and machine gun fire • Meanwhile, Lebanon may receive financial support from the International Monetary Fund

The economic crisis in Lebanon has long been a rather bizarre event.

Local media reported this morning (Sunday) an exchange of fire near the city of Belbach in the east of the country.

Young people reportedly opened fire at a veterinary pharmacy near the local Sinbad restaurant, after a cat was not given medicine on the spot.

The reports did not specify whether there was a shortage of medication, the amount of the payment or a dispute with the owner that prevented the treatment from the cat.

Also, the owner of the clinic did not remain obligated.

Lebanese media reported that he responded to attackers by launching shrapnel and machine gun fire.

Meanwhile, last month the Reuters news agency reported that Lebanon may reach an initial agreement for financial support from the International Monetary Fund.

The Lebanese economy has been hit, among other things, by the withdrawal of funds from banks by businessmen from the Gulf states.

These funds were withdrawn following Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian civil war.
