Schliersee - Four mountain rescuers from Schliersee and two from Bergwacht Munich rescued two women from the upper Kümpflalm on Saturday.
The two hikers from the Rosenheim area were "lightly dressed and with unsuitable footwear" set out on a sleigh ride, says Lorenz Haberle, press spokesman for the Schliersee mountain rescue service.

According to his report, the 30- and 32-year-olds wanted to climb over the Pfanngraben to the Rotwandhaus - until they ran out of strength at the Kümpflalm.

It was received by the head of the Schliersee mountain rescue service at around 2:30 p.m. from the Rosenheim control center.
"The mountain rescuers were brought to the Wildfeldalm in the Rotwand area in several shuttles using all-terrain vehicles," reports Haberle.
“From here we only went on touring skis.” The hikers would have needed them too.
The operation shows again that one must be properly prepared and equipped for such mountain tours, warns the spokesman.
"Often there is too much snow at higher altitudes and tracing in deep snow takes a lot of strength."
The mission lasted two and a half hours
In addition to touring skis or snowshoes, avalanche equipment should not be missing.
The women were brought to the ATV via the Rotwandweg.
The operation lasted until 5 p.m.
