At least seven people were killed and three others were missing when a block of rock fell on top of boats sailing in a tourist lake in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
"At this point, there are seven dead and three missing," Pedro Ihara, a spokesman for the Minas Gerais firefighters, was quoted by AFP as saying today.
A previous toll had indicated that two people were killed and 32 others were injured in the fall of the rock mass.
Firefighters said that among the injured, nine were taken to hospitals.
Yesterday, at midday, a large boulder broke off and fell on three boats sailing in Lake Furnas, known for its green waters and picturesque rocky walls.
The state of Minas Gerais is witnessing heavy rains that forced nearly 17,000 people to flee their homes due to floods.
