An indictment was filed today (Sunday) against Maj. Gen. Nader Rabah, deputy commander of a Border Police unit, after documenting police officers using a hidden camera while they were at the girls' residence at the base.

He is charged with committing offenses of invasion of privacy, unlawful wiretapping and breach of trust.

In the main case in which Nader was charged, he used a hidden camera, which he installed in the girls' residence while sneaking there alone in July 2020. Almost all the occupants of the room, all conscripts, were not at the base that day, and did not know of his actions.

He hid the camera in the vest pocket of one of the occupants of the room, which hung on a hanger in the room, and turned on the camera, through which the room space and the shower room could be seen.

Nader then left the room.

Later that day, one of the residents arrived there, and when she did not know about the existence of the camera, she took off her clothes and went into the shower.

When she left it half an hour later, she found the camera and stopped filming.

In another case, which happened a year earlier, the defendant hid the camera in the room of another policewoman, also in compulsory service, and photographed her naked while in her room at the base.

According to the indictment, in these acts, the defendant intentionally violated the privacy of the complainants, by tracing them, and harassing them.

In addition, it was determined that the defendant committed these acts while he was a public servant, and while performing his duty, and therefore it is an act of breach of trust that harms the public.
