Syrian weightlifter Maan Asaad, who won bronze in weightlifting at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, and a number of distinguished Syrian athletes visited the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and reviewed the various artistic, historical and cultural exhibits.
During the ceremony honoring the weightlifter Asaad and his companions by the pavilion’s management, Syria’s ambassador to the UAE and General Commissioner of the pavilion, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, said: We are proud to receive and honor the champion weightlifter Maan Asaad and the rest of the athletes who raised Syria’s name high in the most important international sporting events and were real and effective ambassadors for the Syrian people in The whole world, stressing the importance of honoring all Syrian creators by celebrating their achievements in the Syrian Pavilion.
The Syrian Wing team presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to the Asaad athlete and to a number of Syrian athletes who won medals in Arab and international championships in a number of games.
The director of the Syrian pavilion, Eng. Khaled Al-Shama'a, and the Syrian media figure, Mustafa Al-Agha, participated in the honoring, in addition to members of the Syrian community in the UAE and a number of athletes and those interested in sports affairs in the UAE.
