The University of Maryland near Washington will collaborate with the Ashkelon Academic College on a new academic course, in which Israeli students will talk about their experiences of missile attacks in the south.
The collaboration comes due to a chain of antisemitic events at the American University.
As part of the course, Israeli and American students will participate in several sessions that will deal with the diverse cultural resources between the countries, which feed the media on the subject of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The course will expose American students to the difficult experience of Israeli students.

As part of the cooperation agreement between the institutions, Dr. Eli Friedman and Dr. Michal Neubauer-Shani from the college will compile a scientific book together with Prof. Paul Sham, director of the Israel Studies Unit at the university.
The book will deal with polarization and consensus in Israeli society from a multidisciplinary point of view.
Dr. Joseph B. Scholtan, Co-Director of the Office of International Relations at the University of Maryland: “The Global Classroom course will bring students to work together in mixed teams on real-world issues as part of the class.
In addition to the interpersonal connections that the course will create between Israelis and Americans, it will also give them significant experience working in a global environment. "
