An incident in the Hallertau network on November 25th caused the electricity to fail in numerous communities. Around 30,000 households were affected. After almost 50 minutes, the energy supplier, Bayernwerk Netz GmbH, was able to give the all-clear: the technicians were successful, the electricity was back. The reason for the failure, in which fortunately no one was injured, was that while working on a 110 kV high-voltage line, one rope had fallen back on another and led to protective shutdowns in the network. The report on a Europe-wide unique project that is being carried out in Hallbergmoos was clicked 340 times more often: In May, the building committee paved the way for the “work-life quarter” in the Munich Airport Business Park - known under the term "the wave". We are talking about a 20,000 square meter surfing facility, which, according to investors, is CO2-neutral and 80 percent of it is powered by its own photovoltaic systems. In the pool, up to 700 surfers - both professional athletes and beginners - can ride the wave every day over a length of 180 meters, which is regenerated every ten seconds, almost like surfing in the sea. The plant is scheduled to go into operation as early as 2023.

It was one of the most moving stories of the year that was clicked 59 095 times: After a motorcycle accident in which a couple of bikers had an accident, the two - out of hospital beds - turned to the first aiders with a touching message. From the front: because a motorist overlooks the motorcycle on the St 2085 in Thalbach bei Wang when turning left, Jan Holznagel and his wife Bianca crash onto the asphalt at full speed. They come to the hospital with fractures and bruises. There it was important to them to turn to the numerous committed first aiders. Because they saw no chance to find them because of the large number of participants, the couple wanted to thank them in this way.

63,710 views on our online portal were received from a report from a city council meeting in Moosburg in mid-July. The ordinance that regulates the times for loud house and garden work as well as making music had to be revised after 20 years. The administration suggested that the times be extended by an hour in the evenings. This led to a controversial discussion, because Green Councilor Evelin Altenbeck would have liked to leave it with the old regulation because of the "bedtime" of children. With this amendment, however, she flashed off.

It was one of the largest fire brigade operations of the year in the Freising district: on the morning of September 24th, the Penny market in the Allershausen industrial park was on fire. Earlier, a van parked under the supermarket's canopy caught fire. The fire immediately spread to the market, 20 minutes later the roof structure collapsed, and shortly afterwards the building burned to the ground. A total of eight brigades with 128 emergency services and 23 vehicles were in action, as well as the district's ABC group and the local operations management support group. The good news: miraculously, there were no injuries - all customers and employees were able to flee in good time. The user's mouse pointer landed 64 028 times on this continuously updated article.

5th and 4th place:

The online users followed this project closely: Florian Dittmar from Freising built a tiny house on wheels for his "great work" at the Montessori school.

The daily newspaper accompanied the student during the two years.

When the 15-year-old finally presented his XXL school project in the summer, a television team was there.

Not only school principal Angelika Herzog was blown away by the project.

The article about the tiny house presentation was viewed 65,260 times.

The report from the end of April, when Florian Dittmar was on the home straight, was clicked 4232 times more often - and it turned out that he is probably the youngest tiny house farmer in all of Germany.

At the beginning of August, the facade of the new fire station in Marzling caused a stir: there you can read the words “Feuerwehr Marzling” - in XXL letters. While the Florian disciples complained that the "F" and the "E" had different strengths, another circumstance angered three councilors. Thomas Sellmeir, Christian Mäuer and Michael Schwaiger denounced the way in which the lettering came about: According to their comments, there was already headwind for the design of the facade in September 2020 - the lettering looked "greislig" according to Sellmeir. According to the three councilors, Mayor Martin Ernst said at the time that the cause would be voted on again - which supposedly did not happen. Ernst stated that he had made the decisionso as not to provoke delays in completion. The compromise: The lettering will be improved - so hopefully everyone can live with it. The cause “lettering” was accessed 74,685 times on Merkur Online.

Excitement: The facade of the new Marzlinger fireworks heated the minds.

Of course, there was no comparison to the devastating flood disaster, which in mid-July claimed more than 180 deaths in western Germany. But heavy rain on August 30th also caused the region to be called “Land unter” in half of the district. Especially the Hallertau and parts of the Ampertal were affected, around 45 fire brigades in action. Cellars had to be pumped empty, tracks blocked and animals evacuated. The district office issued an urgent warning against crossing the floods with vehicles. The dimensions of the flood can be illustrated using the example of the contemplative evenings: If the water level in Au / Hallertau is normally around 25 centimeters, it rose to 1.75 meters in a very short time. The Bavarian flood news service could not finally say how far this mark was exceeded:The level measurement fell victim to the floods at some point. The online article, which was continuously updated, finally had 77,808 hits.

Bee alarm: An attempt by a Freisinger to drive you out of the chimney failed.

1st place:

By far the most frequently accessed online article of the year 2021 - namely 309,237 times - is a story from June. She reports of a shot that backfired tremendously - but luckily it still went relatively lightly. On June 12th, a pensioner from Freising noticed that bees had nestled in his chimney. To get rid of them, the 84-year-old made a fatal decision: he wanted to drive away the insects with smoke. But the plan backfired: Apparently the honeycomb had sealed the passage so tight that the smoke turned and flowed back into the living rooms of the terraced house - the fire brigade arrived. The bees were meanwhile unimpressed by the action. Even a chimney sweeper couldn't help. Andreas Stuber,The chairman of the Freising Beekeeping Association said at the time that the pensioner would have to come to terms with his “roommates” for better or worse. “It is very rare for bees to nestle in a chimney. But once the bee has built itself in, you can't bring it out either. ”The reasonably good news for the 84-year-old: bees are not at all aggressive and would only sting in absolute self-defense.
