Today, the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank witnessed a demonstration of support for the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, especially the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, who has cancer.

The Palestinian Wafa news agency quoted Bethlehem Governor Kamel Hamid as saying during the sit-in organized by the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club in the cinema area in the city center, in which dozens of Palestinians participated, “that the prisoners are subjected to a series of systematic measures practiced by the occupation authorities against them to liquidate their presence, steadfastness and strike their morale.” Popular activities in support of the cause of prisoners, especially the prisoner Abu Hamid.

In turn, the director of the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs in Bethlehem, Munqith Abu Atwan, said that the health condition of the prisoner Abu Hamid is very serious as a result of the medical deprivation that the occupation deliberately practices against the prisoners.

The West Bank witnesses daily solidarity vigils in support of the prisoner Abu Hamid, who has been imprisoned since 2002, and it calls on the international community to pressure the occupation to release him immediately, especially after his health deteriorated days ago and he was in a coma and put on respirators as a result of his suffering from the consequences of the operation to remove a cancerous tumor in lungs;
