Bus driver paddling on his cell phone: Accident with considerable damage to property

According to the police, there was a traffic accident on Eichenauer Strasse in Puchheim last Friday evening, which resulted in significant property damage.
Puchheim - A 53-year-old from Puchheim took a bus on Eichenauer Strasse towards Puchheim-Ort around shortly after 9 p.m.
Here he briefly looked at his mobile phone, so that he was distracted and went off the road, as the police report.
The bus hit the Renault car of a 23-year-old from Puchheim, which was parked on the edge of the lane.
The driver counter-steered and lost control of the bus due to the snow.
He drove into a trailer parked on the side of the road belonging to a 30-year-old from Puchheim and pushed it a few meters in front of him.
The bus driver was unharmed.
One passenger left the scene of the accident before the police even arrived.
According to the police, there was material damage to the bus, the car and the trailer, which is estimated at 30,000 euros

Due to this incident, the Germering police would like to expressly point out once again: The use of a cell phone or other electronic devices for communication, information and entertainment is prohibited while driving if the respective device has to be picked up.
Illegal use while driving is a violation of the road traffic regulations and results in a fine.
If there is a risk to other road users or even an accident, the fine increases significantly again.
