The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, affirmed the government's continuation of providing support and facilities to the national media and strengthening its role as a direct link between the citizen and state institutions, conveying citizens' concerns and issues in a transparent manner and shedding light on the deficiencies related to the provision of services to citizens.
During his meeting today with the head and members of the Executive Office of the Union of Journalists, Eng. Arnous noted the efforts made by workers in various national media outlets and to show the reality of the war, siege and unjust sanctions that Syria is subjected to, which directly reflected negatively on the life and livelihood of the Syrian citizen, expressing at the same time his appreciation for the sacrifices that have been made. The media presented it and they were side by side with the valiant Syrian Arab Army on all fronts.
The proposals focused on issues related to improving the nature of work, compensation for journalists, enhancing the union’s investments, addressing the reality of a number of facilities belonging to it and occupied by other parties, increasing financial subsidies to the Social Fund, and ways to provide job stability for workers in the media sector in line with the data of the administrative reform project, in addition to establishing a special labor law With media professionals and securing a headquarters for the Union in Aleppo.
In his response to the proposals, Eng. Arnous pointed out that the government has worked to raise compensation, the nature of work, and specialization for all working groups and segments, in line with the current salary. physical and intellectual labor sectors.
The Prime Minister also affirmed the government's keenness to enable the Journalists' Union to play its role at the internal and external levels.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, and the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Muhammad Khader.
