With a cathodic hammer from 2019, this series by Sam Levinson inspired by his past addictions depicted American high school students succumbing to a destructive fury for life (drugs, alcohol, sex). The viewer was plunged head first into this overload of colors, sounds, desire, bodies and disjointed visions. This sensory chaos was narrated by the omniscient voice of Rue. 17 year old teenager who anesthetizes in artificial paradises the pain of having lost his father. For her hallucinatory performance, Zendaya received at 23 years the Emmy for best actress!
This second season, long awaited and so delayed by the pandemic, shows the trials that await Rue after his overdose.
The young girl reunites with her family, Jules, the trans classmate who makes her heart beat.
And hides his relapse from them.
His odyssey is a journey into the heart of darkness: Rue falls ever lower ...
