The Israeli delegation to the UN has been working in recent weeks to increase the number of Israelis working at the organization's headquarters.
Israel suffers from under-representation in the organization's bodies, with only about 100 Israelis employed.
None of them holds one of the senior positions in the organization.
This number is also low in relation to the size of the population, compared to other countries.
In light of this, and following the effort of Ambassador Gilad Ardan and the Israeli delegation to the UN in front of the organization's secretariat, registration for the UN's prestigious youth program, the YPP, for young Israelis opened this year.

The program is designed for young people up to the age of 32, undergraduates, English or French speakers at an ongoing level.
Whoever is found suitable will enter the UN database, from which the organization will select its employees for the next three years.
"We are constantly working to break the 'glass ceiling' and increase the number of Israelis at the UN," Ambassador Arden said.
