The EC Peiting starts the new year with a special idea for the next generation of ice hockey enthusiasts.
Under the motto “Be cool before school”, the association is offering training on the ice for the age groups U11, U13 and U15 from Tuesday before school.
If you want to be there, you have to get up early.
Peiting - “This is the order of the day at the big clubs that have boarding schools. In our region we are the first to do something like this, ”explains ECP junior coordinator Markus Gleich, who developed the idea together with youth trainer Klaus Müller. "We want to offer the children, who have had to accept a lot of restrictions in the last few months, added value and more Ice Age." In addition, physical activity before school is a good way to get the body going, says Gleich, who offers the offer also sees it as a supplement to school sport, which is often neglected. As a club you always want to develop further, so early training is an important component.
Actually, the ECP didn't want to start the early shift until the coming season, because after all, a lot had to be organized first.
"The ice cream master has to be there early, the trainers have to have time, and the breakfast packages have to be picked up," says just three points that had to be clarified in advance.
For the latter, the association brought the Sesar bakery on board, which is responsible for a healthy start to the day.
The first morning training will take place tomorrow, Tuesday
Because everything worked out very quickly, “we decided at short notice to get started on January 11,” says Gleich.
Twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, skating and ice hockey are the order of the day, before the focus is on German, English and math.
However, if you want to be there, you have to get up early.
The meeting point is at 6 a.m. at the ice rink.
The ice age then runs from 6.15 a.m. to 7.05 a.m.
The offer is open to the next generation of ice hockey players.
“It is expressly addressed to all children, not just from Peiting,” says Gleich, who is also happy about registrations from outside the market town.
The new offer is well received by students and parents
The initial response to the early shift has been great. "We did a parent survey and there was a lot of interest," reports Gleich. "In terms of bookings, things are going very well, but there are still places available," adds Müller, who, like Gleich, is available at any time to answer questions about the early program.
Both of them still have ideas as to how early training could be made even more attractive. One of them is a shuttle service for the ice hockey children who go to different schools in Peiting, Schongau or Peißenberg. "That might be something in the next season if we could, in cooperation with a bus company, deliver the boys and girls directly to the school after the training," says Gleich, who can also imagine putting together the breakfast packages himself at the ECP in the future. "However, this also requires volunteers," adds the junior coordinator.
