Magdeburg state parliament evacuated after bomb threat

After a bomb threat by email in Magdeburg, the state parliament building was cleared.
The police measures are still ongoing.
Magdeburg - On Monday afternoon (January 10th, 2022) the main building of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt was cleared.
In the run-up, a bomb threat had been received by email via a central mailbox, as a parliamentary spokeswoman confirmed to the German press agency.
“The police are on site”.
The state parliament members as well as all employees were asked by loudspeaker announcement to leave the state parliament building.
A spokeswoman said immediately after the evacuation of the building: "Meanwhile, a few dozen people are waiting on the Domplatz".

Magdeburg police confirmed bomb threat from "a previously unknown person"
In the afternoon, the police in Magdeburg confirmed that there had been a bomb threat from “a previously unknown person”.
The state parliament building was then "cleared immediately".
"In parallel to the immediate police hazard prevention measures, explosive detection dogs are used to search for any explosive objects," said a spokeswoman for the Magdeburg police station.
The police measures are still ongoing.
