Helmut Zech, Mayor of Pfaffenhofen an der Glonn, would like more serenity again in 2022 - and answers from politicians.

What impressed you most in your community over the past year?

Helmut Zech: Certainly I could list a few points here, especially what was done in the area of ​​helpfulness, but I would nevertheless like to highlight a citizen who, without much fuss, organized household items for her neighbor in need and set them up for her daughter on Sunday .

I was also personally very impressed by a thank you card for a birthday visit that I made during the Corona period; I was very touched by the gratitude and openness towards me.

What went well in 2021?

The implementation of the adventure pond in the robber forest, regardless of whether the coordination with Dachau Agil, Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Dachau district or the complete structural implementation with the civil engineering company Mayr in Rossbach or the beautiful lighting, which were designed by the team Manuela and Marianne with the building yard, really pleased me liked.

What are you particularly looking forward to in the coming year, what will be the most beautiful project, what will be the most important for the community?

The most beautiful project, and at the same time the most important in my opinion, will be the subject of multi-flex buildings in Egenburg.

Here the community will once again tackle the issue of barrier-free construction and senior citizens' apartments and build rental apartments at affordable prices for our population.

As a trained builder, I of course particularly enjoy the planning task!

We will also get into sewer planning and construction in Unterumbach next year, an important project, which of course will only be carried out underground and will usually cause a lot of trouble, because of course there are disabilities for all residents.

    But no matter, I'm used to something like that now, and in the end, when everything is finished, people are still happy and proud that their place is future-proof and well designed.

Which projects have to be canceled due to the financial losses, which can still be implemented?

Due to the financial situation, we will not postpone any of the planned measures, as all measures are well thought out and already approved by the local council.

A postponement would only lead to additional costs, such as building price increases - currently five to eight percent per year - and also cause additional processing costs.

The municipality of Pfaffenhofen an der Glonn will have to finance part of the loan, but fee-financed measures such as sewer construction are important for environmental protection and ensure clean waters!

    Municipal housing is also an important factor in addressing the housing shortage, especially for older people who are retiring and who only have a lower income available.

Thanks to the generous housing construction subsidies from the Free State of Bavaria, the costs can be reduced to a profitable range.

How is the cohesion in your church during these difficult times?

With Corona you clearly notice that of course what we have in common is no longer possible and the topic of egoism and ruthlessness are increasingly occurring.

Nevertheless, many people are willing to help others, which I am particularly happy about. For example, I would like to mention the thousands of hours volunteered by our First Responder.

It's just great and doesn't pay for anything.

Most of our club life was also able to continue, which was very important.

I very much hope that we will come back to a common we after Corona and that people will be a little more relaxed with themselves and the environment, but still recognize that everyone should do their bit!

What do you wish for in 2022?

Of course, health for my family and everyone around me and that we can finally master Corona in all of its variants.

Furthermore, I would like politicians to finally have answers to the pressing issues of the day and, in general, more respect for each other's achievements!

The many issues that divide our society must come to an end!

Do you have new year's resolutions?

No, or yes ... I'm trying again to have the checkups required for my age.

I have already broken the resolution to do a little more sport and also reduce my excess weight several times, and that's why it's no longer on the list!
