Damascus Governorate issued new tariffs for taxi meters operating within the city.
A member of the Executive Office of the Supply Sector, Internal Trade and Industry in the governorate, Shadi Sukkarieh, said in a statement to SANA that the new tariff has become 400 Syrian pounds per kilometer, after it was 230 Syrian pounds, and the time-hour has increased to 5,000 pounds, after it was 4,000 pounds.
Soukaria pointed out that the opening of the meter became 200 pounds after it was 150 pounds, and the first strike became 65 pounds after it was 50 pounds, while the distance of the strikes was reduced to 150 meters after it was 180 meters, and the next strikes 40 meters after it was 45 meters.
Soukaria said that the new tariff is fair for owners of (taxi) cars, after adjusting the price of gasoline and raising the costs of maintenance and spare parts.
