Nitzan's library will not be quiet Israel today

Former State Attorney, recently appointed Rector of the National Library • The National Library does not have a Rector role, and a non-existent position has never been filled • The level of alleged criminality of this appointment process will not excite anyone from Nitzan's environment

Shai Nitzan, a former state attorney, was recently appointed rector of the National Library.

A sigh of relief was heard among the national camp - at least he was not appointed to the Supreme Court, and some damage could already result in an appointment, controversial as it may be, to a dry and politically inactive position.

But Nitzan does not just appear - he knocks on the door.

Indeed, his appointment procedure was decent, transparent and met the stringent standards to which we were already accustomed in everything related to him and his responsibilities.

The remarks were written in detail by Prof. Talia Einhorn, and the Lavi organization and Ayala Hasson's investigations took care to shed light on the seemingly corrupt move of Nitzan's appointment.

I'm just giving the highlights here, as they say.

The National Library does not have a rector role, and this non-existent position was never filled until Nitzan arrived.

The tender, tailor-made and tailor-made, was published on a remote website, far from the eye, far from the heart.

The job is essentially about managing the staff of the institution, but do not make the lawyer with a healthy appetite laugh.

If there is no "rector" position, let's change the title to "academic director."

Thus, on the heads of two talented and worthy people who manage the contents of the library, the lawyer whose experience in librarianship is approaching zero has fallen, their powers have been transferred to him, and now the safe of the Hebrew canon is in his hands.

Only a petty man like me would add that a completely innocent coincidence almost doubled the library budget under the coalition agreements of the Healing Government, five metaphorical minutes before the refreshing appointment.

It's not even half the dirt, but the apparent criminality level of this appointment process will not excite anyone around Nitzan.

As they say - lol.

To his credit it must be said - a vigorous climbing bud.

It would be naive to think that his authority, whether legal or not, would be used in favor of arranging a loan card leaflet or whispering that six were angry at frightened readers.

He will not ride peacefully to the sunset, and will use his new powers from the nylon for the benefit of the continuation of his activities.

This is an obsession.

No standards, no appearance and certainly no value failures, sorry for the French, will stand in her way.

Nitzan destroyed the integrity of the prosecution, which won five percent trust among the public under his leadership, and enslaved its people to a political hunting campaign while displaying admirable serenity in the face of criminal moves worthy of a series on Netflix.

Nitzan did not "do his thing."

On the contrary, in my opinion, after the right-wing errors regarding the appointment are silenced, Nitzan will roll up his sleeves - and go to work.

The National Library Act gives the board the option to control the contents kept in the library, to decide which booklet goes into the safe and which book will be expelled from it out of respect.

To this day, needless to say, this law has been a dead letter as it deserves.

Then came Shai Nitzan.

I wish I was wrong, but I suggest keeping an eye on what is going on in this important institution from now on.

The title of my next column on this subject, which I borrowed from Prof. Einhorn, is ready: "The Post-National Library."

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
