It will take some time before the new roundabout in Poing is built.

The preparatory work has been completed, and there will be a standstill until Easter.

Poing - Until Easter there will be a standstill on the areas that are currently fallow at the transition from Kirchheimer Allee to Bergfeldstraße in northwest Poing.

After Easter, work on the new roundabout that is being built there should start.

This is announced by Helmut Sloim, project manager and spokesman for the working group of developers and investors (ARGE) am Bergfeld.

The work should be advertised at the end of January / beginning of February.

If everything goes according to plan, the roundabout should be completed this year, says Sloim.

Poing: roundabout with a diameter of 35 meters

Almost a year ago, the detailed planning was presented to the building committee of the Poing municipal council.

According to this, the roundabout will have a diameter of 35 meters and the lane width will be seven meters.

For comparison: the roundabout at the OMV petrol station at the western entrance to the town has a radius of 52 meters and a lane width of twelve meters.

In late summer 2021, the topsoil was removed from the areas required for the new roundabout.

Then the obligatory archaeological investigations were carried out.

So that the area is ready for construction this year.

ARGE is responsible for costs

The new roundabout is part of the contract between the ARGE and the municipality of Poing to develop the new Lerchenwinkel residential area.

The consortium is responsible for the production and the costs.

The roundabout is intended to absorb the additional traffic created by the Lerchenwinkel and the subsequent W8 development area and improve the flow of traffic on Bergfeldstrasse and Kirchheimer Allee.

There, Kirchheimer Allee faces south as a kinking right of way into Bergfeldstrasse.

According to a traffic report that was drawn up in advance and with a view to the new development areas W7 and W8, traffic on Bergfeldstrasse, Kirchheimer Allee (between the new roundabout and gas station) and the Westring will double.

From currently around 4400 vehicles per day to up to 10,000 (Bergfeldstrasse) or from 3200 to a good 6000 (Westring).

Poing: Another roundabout at Ottersberg

Another roundabout is planned in the northeast of Poing: shortly before Ottersberg, at the intersection of Plieninger Straße / Westring.

The municipality of Poing has already acquired all the necessary land here, but according to ARGE spokesman Helmut Sloim, construction is not yet realistic this year.

Coordination discussions would still have to be held with the Rosenheim state building authority responsible for Plieninger Strasse (Kreisstrasse).

The Poing municipal council has already made the fundamental decision to build a roundabout here as well.

In the two new development areas Lerchenwinkel (W7) and W8 (there is no name for this yet) living space is being created for around 2000 people each.
