The state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in Magdeburg was evacuated after a bomb threat.

A police operation is in progress.

Magdeburg - The state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt has been evacuated after a bomb threat.

The threat was emailed to the central mailbox of parliament in Magdeburg on Monday lunchtime, as a state parliament spokeswoman said.

The threat was written under a pseudonym.

The police in Magdeburg confirmed a police operation in the state parliament.

The main building has been cleared.

Mainly administrative employees were in the state parliament, as the spokeswoman said.

Regular meetings have not yet started in the new year.
