For some candidates, this procedure is a real headache.
Several of them do not hide their difficulties in collecting the 500 signatures of elected officials necessary to run for the Elysee.
Among them, Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour, who represent, according to polls, more than 10% of voting intentions each, but also Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
During a press conference this Monday, January 10, the candidate of the Insoumis asked that the sponsorships be made anonymous, joining a wish repeated several times by Marine Le Pen.

A request that remains a dead letter. Invited this Monday morning on France Inter, the president of the LREM group in the National Assembly, Christophe Castaner, explained that it would not be desirable to modify the rules currently in force on the submission of sponsorships, "out

”. According to the deputy, "
preferring opacity to transparency is always a flaw
". The elected official believes, however, that it would eventually be necessary to change the rules of sponsorship, in order to "
give more freedom of application
".
Due to the lack of anonymous support, some candidates may not be able to present themselves officially.
