Take-Two, the distributor and owner of 2K, Rockstar and many other keys, has announced that it has acquired the mobile game developer Zynga worth $ 12.7 billion.
Zynga has developed a number of particularly popular titles to date such as Farmville, Mafia Wars, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells and many more.
Take-Two CEO
Strauss Zelnik
responded: “We are excited to announce the acquisition of Zynga, which significantly diversifies our business and establishes it in the mobile space as well - an area that represents the most significant growth in the industry.
This strategic combination will bring together our best franchises and one of the best and leading mobile distributors on the market. "

While mobile games by Zynga and similar companies are considered free, there are always some restrictions on the players designed to prevent them from progressing and performing actions quickly.
Players are usually required to purchase packages in the digital store in order to expedite the process, or a variety of different restrictions.
Take-Two's ultimate goal is to develop a number of mobile titles with a similar experience that will be based on its best-known titles: GTA and Mafia series, Bioshock, Borderlands, NBA 2K and quite a few other popular titles in the gaming industry.
So you don't necessarily have to watch a game that combines Farmville and GTA.
This is the largest acquisition made to date in the gaming industry, with the last one holding the record being Microsoft, which last year acquired the Zenimax corporation and with it Bethesda, at a cost of $ 7.5 billion.
Sony also acquired five keys over the past year: Insomniac, Firesprite, Housemarque, Nixxes, and Valkyrie Entertainment, but the amounts of the deals have not been announced.
