The Directorate of Tourism in Daraa granted two tourist commendation licenses for a swimming pool in the city of al-Sanamayn and a swimming pool and restaurant on the Damascus-Daraa highway, with an investment value of about one billion Syrian pounds.
The Director of Tourism, Yasser Al-Saadi, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that last year saw the entry of eight tourist facilities to the labor market, including restaurants and swimming pools, indicating that the directorate granted a license last year to six travel and tourism offices and institutions and has 20 offices under licensing, while the total number of licensed offices reaches 63 offices.
Al-Saadi indicated that the directorate intensified its tours of tourist facilities and tourist work sites and organized three seizures, which resulted in the closure of two restaurants and a travel and tourism office.
He added that the directorate is following up its work in the field of the tourist registry, with a total of 32 records, and four records were granted last year, indicating that the directorate granted 39 approvals for domestic tourist trips last year, within the framework of promoting, revitalizing and encouraging domestic tourism.
He explained that the restoration of Nassib Border Information Center has reached its final stages, with a completion rate of 95 percent.
