Víctor Escobar became the first non-terminal patient in Latin America to receive euthanasia, according to his lawyer Luis Giraldo Montenegro on his Twitter account. Martha Sepúlveda, whose case made headlines in October
, was also able to undergo the procedure this Saturday, after a judge ordered it later that month.
Both had to face intense legal battles in order to receive assisted death in their country.
