The state government has decided: No 2Gplus regulation for gastronomy in Bavaria.

The hosts in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen are relieved.

The situation is not yet easy as a result.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - Schnitzel, spaghetti and gyros are still on the table in Bavaria without a corona test: The Bavarian state government announced on Tuesday afternoon that there would be no further restrictions in the Free State due to a 2Gplus regulation.

The industry breathes a sigh of relief.

Nevertheless, the situation is not easy for the hosts in the region.

Corona: 2Gplus in gastronomy does not apply in Bavaria: "I take a load off my heart"

“A big stone falls from my heart,” says Johann Oberhauser.

After a lot of negative reports in the past few months, this is "finally good news" for the catering industry.

Even now, when those who have recovered and those who have been vaccinated are allowed to take a seat in the Eglingen Gasthof Oberhauser without an additional negative test, "there is less going on than without the conditions," he says.

Celebrations would be canceled in a row, on New Year's Eve and New Year's the kitchen stayed cold because hardly any guests were expected.

The popular Sunday buffet with delicacies from our own butcher's shop is currently not served due to the requirements.

Oberhauser: "Any further tightening would have been tough."

Landlady from Bad Tölz is happy about the 2Gplus decision: "The situation is already difficult"

Alexandra Sprenger, landlady in the old customs house in Bad Tölz, thinks the current requirements are strict enough. "We are getting pretty worn out because we haven't seen normality for so long," she says. Due to curfew, 2G restriction and distance requirement, she has to struggle with cuts in operations every day. “I think that many do not know how difficult the situation is for the entire industry.” The restaurant has been closed since the beginning of the year, and Sprenger will not be welcoming guests again until the end of January. The whole thing is annoying above all because she is not aware of any case in which a corona infection can be traced back to a restaurant visit. “We asked for contact details for months. We have never used them. ”She sees the cabinet decision to leave the measures in the catering industry at the status quo as positive:that the rules don't change every few weeks. Otherwise we would really have zero planning security. "

“It takes a load off my heart,” says Johann Oberhauser from Egling.

Is 2Gplus coming to hotspots in Bavaria?

Hosts want planning security

Ursula Werner from the Altwirt in Lenggries emphasizes that this is now at least given for the next few weeks.

"For a while, the news is a relief," she says.

“At the moment, however, you can't plan much longer than a week or two in advance.” She doesn't believe that the 2G rule will remain in place when the number of infections increases: “Nothing has been set in stone for months,” says Werner.

State Chancellery boss Florian Herrmann explained at the press conference after the cabinet meeting that it cannot be ruled out that the 2Gplus rule will still be introduced in hotspot counties with an incidence of over 1000.

Altwirt in Münsing on Corona rules: “Already an effort

Joseph Großmann is happy that his old host in Münsing can continue to operate as usual.

"It is already an effort for us to implement all of this," says the restaurateur.

At the moment, when only the interior of the inn is open due to the weather, it is still possible to ask all guests for a vaccination pass or a convalescent certificate - “we have to extend that to the beer garden and then check the test results or even test them ourselves there will be chaos at some point, ”says the landlord.

In the meantime, the majority of customers have got used to the procedure before they eat.

“In the beginning it was difficult for some when it was all new and unfamiliar,” says Großmann.

Vaccination rate is low: restaurants have fewer visitors

Because the vaccination rate in the district is still quite low, many people are denied a visit to the restaurant despite the special Bavarian route.

In the eyes of restaurateurs, the 2G rule is enough: "It would certainly be even less if you needed another test," says Zollhaus landlady Sprenger.

Spontaneous visits would then only be possible for boosted guests - they do not have to test.

"And for everyone else it would be an incredible effort."
