The branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Tartous has completed the work of expanding and replacing the old networks in the Hamrat neighborhood of the city, in addition to completing the replacement of lead networks in all the city’s neighborhoods and installing optical fibers according to four contracts at a cost of nearly one billion Syrian pounds.
The director of the branch, Engineer Badi’ Wannous, said in a statement to SANA that work is underway to expand and modernize the networks of the old city, which belong to the first and second divisions, where the old lead networks have been replaced and the networks have also been expanded in areas where there were no light exchanges in the first place, such as the neighborhoods adjacent to Souq Al-Hal and Wadi Al-Shater, indicating that The goal of the project is to provide internet service to citizens' homes through optical fibers.
The network official in the branch, Ghiath Mustafa, indicated that so far, the replacement and expansion operations have been completed in Al-Hamrat district, which were fed with a cable with a capacity of 900 lines in three groups, each group with a capacity of 300 lines to expand the subnet and cancel the old lead network to change the quality of the Internet, pointing out that it is expected to be completed Complete the project in about a week.
