Karlsfelder Kunstkreis takes stock of the past year and looks ahead positively.

Karlsfeld - The Karlsfeld artists had admittedly hoped for more: exhibitions of the Karlsfeld Art Circle that had already been postponed had to be postponed again or even several times.

Nevertheless, the conclusion for the past year by the board of directors of the Kunstkreis, Klaus-Peter Kühne, is positive.

Despite the pandemic and restrictions, the association presented five exhibitions from its ranks.

However, Kühne sees the external exhibition, which was created in collaboration with the community, as the highlight.

As part of the “10 Years of Mura Lucano town twinning”, this called on all small artists to put their idea of the twin town on paper.

“The participation with 1000 pictures was enormous and the selection was very difficult,” recalls Kühne, who was part of the jury.

Just the hanging of the hundreds of works with even more thumbtacks will stay in his memory for a long time.

The vernissage with many participating children and their parents, grandparents and siblings brought the gallery a record number of visitors, according to Kühne.

Despite Corona, the association was also able to welcome three new members and invite another artist from Munich for the probationary year.

"We will certainly see a lot of good things from them in the future," says Kühne with certainty.

The first photography course from member Alexander Krohmer, which he offered as part of the Vhs program (we reported), was also well received.

A sequel is to follow in the spring.

The second edition of the art walk in the summer was also a success, more shop windows and artists taking part would testify to this.

The program for 2022 includes nine exhibitions in the gallery. “Of course without guarantee, we don't know how the rules for galleries will change,” says Kühne. The artist Pingkan Lucas will start on January 21st, who will show photographs on the occasion of her 50th birthday. This will be followed by Alexander Krohmer on February 11th. With the exception of guest exhibitor Renata Mathäser, who will be showing paintings from March 18, the rest of the program will only include members.

“Most of the exhibitions would have been on long ago,” says Kühne regretfully.

Therefore, many member presentations have now accumulated.

“As usual, the Seh am See would also be there in July,” says Kühne, referring to the large art presentation on Karlsfelder See with Karlsfeld artists and many guest exhibitors.

The "whether" or "how" has not yet been determined.

The complete program and opening times are available at www.kunstkreis-karlsfeld.de
