In Berlin, stricter corona rules for gastronomy will apply in the future.
Only those who have been boosted or have been twice vaccinated and those who have recovered with a daily test have access to restaurants, pubs or cafes (2G plus).
According to dpa information, the Senate agreed on this at its meeting on Tuesday.
Berlin is thus implementing the agreements of the federal-state summit last Friday.
Berlin - So far, the 2G rule applied in the capital, according to which guests had to be vaccinated or recovered.
The reason for the renewed tightening is the spread of the particularly contagious virus variant Omikron and the considerable increase in the number of infections.
According to the data from the Robert Koch Institute Berlin-wide (RKI), the corona incidence on Tuesday was 737.2.
In the days before it was still below 700, after Christmas it was below 300. Berlin is now in second place in a comparison of the federal states.
Only in Bremen was a higher number registered on Tuesday.
The average number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days in Germany was just under 388. dpa
