Drama about US actor and comedian Robert Saget: The 65-year-old was found lifeless in a hotel room.

Now there are new details.

It was sad news that hit Hollywood and especially the fans of the cult series "Full House" on Monday: Bob Saget is dead. The actor was lifeless on January 9th in a hotel room in Florida found.

Now there are apparently new details about the death.

People magazine has now published a police report on the case. According to this, a security employee would have gained access to Saget's room in order to “check his well-being”, it is said there, since he should actually have checked out of his room at this point in time. There was no answer to repeated knocking. Saget was found "lying on his back" in bed in a darkened room. It felt "cold", the report said. The employee would not have detected either breathing or pulse.

According to the hotel staff, Saget is said to have last used the key to get into his room at 2:17 a.m.

Images from a surveillance camera should also show how the star went to his room alone.

Employees of the hotel also told People that he appeared "healthy and happy".

Despite the new details, the question of the exact cause of death was initially still unanswered.

Saget, 65, was discovered in a Ritz-Carlton hotel on the morning of January 9th - Orange County police found an "unresponsive man in a hotel room."

The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced dead on the spot.

The investigators found no evidence of a criminal background or "drug use," wrote the police on Twitter.

The comedian was on a US tour and had recently performed in the city of Jacksonville, Florida.

It's hard to believe: just a few hours before his death, he reported on his social networks with a selfie.

It showed Saget immediately after his last show - among other things wrote: "I'm doing comedy again like I was 26."

He thanked the "enthusiastic audience".

Saget didn't even notice that his performance lasted two hours and that he was "happy to be addicted to this crap again".

He also promoted the upcoming dates of his show.

The comedian played the widower Danny Tanner in the US series "Full House", who is overwhelmed with everyday family life with his three daughters after the death of his wife.

The television journalist asks his brother-in-law and best friend to move in with him and help with his upbringing.

The series ran in the US for eight seasons, from 1987 to 1995. The US streaming service Netflix broadcast a sequel that focused on one of Danny's daughters, DJ Tanner, and ran from 2016 to 2020.

Bob Saget is dead: fellow actors mourn

Actor John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse on the hit series, wrote on Twitter that he was "broken" and "devastated".

"I'll never have a boyfriend like him again."

Saget also hosted America's Funniest Home Videos, which was very popular before hilarious amateur videos became widely available on the YouTube video service.

He was also the English narrator in the cult series "How I met your mother".

George Takei, who played the role of Hikaru Sulu on the Star Trek television series "Spaceship Enterprise," said he was "deeply saddened by the comedian's untimely death."

"Loved by millions as America's dad, he was a regular presence in our living rooms, bringing us the funniest videos and tons of laughs," wrote Takei.

Saget was born in Philadelphia in 1956.

He had three children with his first wife, Sherri Kramer Saget - twins Aubrey and Lara and Jennifer.

In his second marriage he was married to Kelly Rizzo.
