Fire in residential and commercial building in the city center

Fire alarm in a residential and commercial building on Hauptstrasse: an apartment on the second floor burned there early on Tuesday afternoon.

Olching - The fire brigades from Olching and Esting were alerted around 2.30 p.m. and moved in with a dozen emergency services.

The Rossmann is on the ground floor of the building.

The main road in the area was completely closed for a short time.

The fire could be extinguished quickly, people were not harmed.

This is also thanks to the courageous commitment of the medical assistants who work in the pediatrician's practice below the apartment, as Olching's fire department spokesman Hans Beyer explains when asked by the daily newspaper.

They heard the beeping of the smoke alarms, assigned them correctly and called the fire brigade.

Residents were evacuated

The apartment was already completely smoky and all residents of the house were evacuated.

However, the emergency services were able to identify the source of the fire quickly.

Apparently rubbish had caught fire in a room, as Beyer reports.

At no point was there any danger to life or limb.

However, the pediatric practice underneath, which was actually well attended, was closed for about an hour.

"Unfortunately, we had to send some mothers and fathers away," says Beyer.

But safety comes first.

At around 4 p.m., the fire brigade moved away again.

There was wild speculation on the Facebook social network while the fire brigade was still in action: The new building in the city is on fire (it only happened recently on Münchner Strasse).

But this is exactly opposite, on Nöscherplatz. 

The police have opened an investigation into the cause of fire.
