Police said 18 suspects were arrested for throwing stones at police officers who secured a JNF planting event in the southern homeland • The Negev Rescue Committee: "A government that relies on the votes of the Muslim Brotherhood and Mansour Abbas cannot strive for Zionism"

It is no longer quiet in the Negev again:

Following the KKL-JNF planting events ahead of Tu B'Shabbat, which will take place in about a week, riots and demonstrations by residents of the Bedouin diaspora in the south developed tonight (Tuesday).

A police spokesman said that police officers acted today against rioters in securing the plantations in the Negev.

During the day, fighters from the Yoav unit, Border Police and MFA fighters from the Israel Police secured the activities of the Jewish National Fund in the Moleda area in the south.

During the operation, 18 suspects were arrested for throwing stones at police officers and disturbing the order, and they were taken for questioning.

Following the disturbances on Route 25 (BS Dimona), the Negev Rescue Committee said: "Unfortunately, the lack of governance in the Negev continues to give its signals, this time the only sin of the State of Israel is planting trees in state lands.

"A government that relies on the votes of the Muslim Brotherhood and Mansour Abbas cannot strive for Zionism."

"We demand that the Minister of Internal Security and the Prime Minister double the policing and enforcement forces in the Negev, 'Guardian of the Walls' around the corner. We remind you that Route 25 leads to the Nabataean Air Force Base," the committee said.
