Folding cell phones are gaining more and more presence in the market and we have more companies betting on them as we already saw with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3 (

on Amazon) or Huawei's Mate X2.
Now, it is Honor's turn with the Magic V, a smartphone with which the company wants to compete in the premium segment.
This is what you should know about the new Honor Magic V:
Five-chamber design
The new foldable Honor Magic V has a 6.45-inch external screen and a 7.9-inch internal screen.
In both cases the panel is OLED with FullHD + resolutions.
Another factor that changes is the refresh rate which is 120 Hz on the outside and 90 Hz on the inside.
Something that the company highlighted during the presentation of the phone was the drop hinge that makes it possible that there is no space between one half of the phone's screens, but that is something that will have to be checked.
According to Honor, the hinge will withstand up to 200,000 fold and unfold cycles.
Asus was inspired by space to create this new laptop
The external display bezels seem quite thin and on the back we have an imposing 50 megapixel triple camera module that we found quite elegant, especially in the white version.
While in the front of the external screen we have a hole with a 42 megapixel camera, as well as in the internal screen in the upper right part of the same resolution.
It is important to note that the Honor Magic V has powerful screens that use a two-layer nano-film technology, in which the outer one will have greater light transmission, water resistance and support for a fingerprint reader, while the second one reduces the reflection of light.
A powerful and smart phone
The Honor Magic V has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and is one of the first five smartphones in the world with this part.
In addition, it will have 12 GB of RAM and two versions of storage of 256 or 512 GB.
It has the Magic UI 6 system based on Android 12.
As the phone will momentarily be available in China, it is still unknown if it will have Google services, but we hope that like its Honor 50 brothers (
MX $ 12,897 and
USD $ 569) and Honor 50 Lite (
MX $ 5,983) integrate them.

Honor Magic V availability and price
The HONOR Magic V will go on sale in China from January 18 and has already started its pre-sale.
