The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced this Monday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time, after he fell ill in January of last year.
The president, who has his full vaccination schedule, including a booster dose, reported that so far he has only presented "mild symptoms."
The Mexican president was in contact last week with Economy Secretary Tatiana Clouthier, who announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

had ruled out three days ago to be tested for COVID-19, claiming that he had no symptoms

"The truth is that I am very well and I have no symptoms, when you have symptoms is when you have to take the test. I am already returning to practice baseball because I had torn myself and the tear takes time. I am better, I am walking," he said in his morning press conference on Friday.
The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, will represent López Obrador in the daily press conferences and other official events, the Mexican president reported through his Twitter account.
