Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced that he had been tested positive for the coronavirus for the second time.
“I am informing you that I have contracted Covid-19 and although the symptoms are mild, I will remain in isolation and only work from my office until I get over it,” Mexican media quoted Obrador as saying in a tweet on Twitter.
Obrador made it clear that his interior minister, Adan Augusto López Hernández, would represent him at his daily morning press briefings and on other occasions.
This is the second time that the Mexican president has contracted the virus, after he tested positive on January 24, 2021.
