Embarrassing breakdown on ARD: In the “Tagesthemen”, guest Wolfgang Ischinger mistook presenter Caren Miosga three times.
Munich / Hamburg - focus topic Ukraine conflict and the talks between Russia and the USA: One who definitely knows about it is Wolfgang Ischinger. The former ambassador and most recently head of the Munich Security Conference (SiKo for short) therefore spoke to presenter Caren Miosga about the topic in the ARD's “Tagesthemen”. Although it didn't seem to be very clear to him that he had switched on Mrs. Miosga as a conversation partner.
At the beginning of the conversation, Ischinger greeted his interview partner with “Good evening, Ms. Slomka”.
Slomka?
Obviously the station was mixed up.
As is well known, Marietta Slomka moderates the ZDF news program “heute-journal” - where Claus Kleber recently stopped.
Miosga reacted confidently, just said “My name is Miosga, doesn't do anything” and smiled friendly.
The problem: It didn't stop with this one name slip.
"Topics of the day": Interview guest affords a wide range of names - "Ms. Slomka"
Ischinger incorrectly called the moderator “Ms. Slomka” two more times during the conversation.
Miosga, however, skilfully easily skipped it, did not address the obvious mistakes again.
Meanwhile, the curious confusion of names was already in the trends on Twitter.
Incidentally, both Miosga and Ischinger reacted to the scenes that evening.
The ARD presenter uploaded a compilation of the slip of the tongue on Twitter using the official “Tagesthemen” account.
She wrote: “With the first one sees better.
Greetings to Marietta and the heute-journal. "
Embarrassing faux pas in the “topics of the day”: Miosga and Ischinger speak up
Ischinger also spoke up - and apologized in a tweet for the admittedly embarrassing mix-up of names.
"I know, I know.
Must not happen.
Actually not even if you only see the camera but not the person opposite and the tone is such that you only understand the questions vaguely.
Sorry, dear Mrs. Miosga!
I'm very sorry! ", It said in the tweet.
Of course, mishaps happen again and again on TV, and you are not free of errors there either.
There was also a recent slip in the “Tagesschau”, for which the spokeswoman apologized twice.
