This Tuesday, on France 2, the philosopher Gaspard Koenig, who launched his party last November, officially declared himself a candidate for the 2022 presidential election. After a tour of France last summer, the essayist returned with the conviction that the French live in a "
bureaucratic prison
".

I decided to go to the end of this process and therefore to introduce myself (...) since this is the moment when new political forces can emerge in France
”, explains the one who pleads for a“
simplification
” the functioning of the country.

I've been in the public debate for ten years and I'm tired of talking with plugged ears.
What I have been proposing for a long time, I cannot find it
, ”he adds, to justify his desire to participate in this electoral event.
"Extremely authoritarian attitude"
Gaspard Koenig, who considers himself to belong to the “
center
” family, believes that Emmanuel Macron, for whom he voted in 2017, “
took an extremely authoritarian attitude
”.

He ruled from above, he made the institutions more private
," he reproaches him.

".

We must advocate freedom from below, give responsibility to municipalities, to individuals
," he adds.
Moreover, if he stands for the supreme election, he admits that the office of President of the Republic does not "

".

But three months before the first round, the business seems difficult for the philosopher, who assures us that his campaign “
will be frugal
”.
