The Director of School Health at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hatoon Al-Tawashi, stated that 70,000 rapid test samples were received to detect the Corona virus from the World Health Organization, which will be applied to suspected cases among students, students and educational staff instead of the PCR test.
In a statement to SANA, Dr. Al-Tawashi explained that the rapid test samples will be distributed to 50 clinics affiliated with the directorate and located in several governorates, noting that a number of heads of school health departments in the governorates have been trained, who will in turn train about 200 doctors and nurses from school health cadres on the mechanism of using rapid testing methods. Dealing with suspected and confirmed cases and filling out the surveillance form, in cooperation with the Directorate of Communicable and Chronic Diseases and Public Health Laboratories at the Ministry of Health.
Al-Tawashi pointed out that the rapid test is applied from the beginning of the second semester of the current school year, indicating that it saves effort and time, in addition to being easy to use, as the result appears within 10 to 15 minutes and is conducted within the school health clinic and contributes to limiting the spread of the virus.
