2022-01-11T16:58:44.557Z

Dune, Lost Illusions, Drive my car, La loi de Téhéran, Aline, Bac Nord… From January 12 to 18, 28 UGC rooms allow you to (re) discover the works that marked the past year at the single price of 3.50 €.

Less catastrophic than the year 2020, 2021 was not an easy one for the cinema.

The hexagonal rooms were only open between May 19 and December 31 and often under difficult conditions (gauge, curfew and sanitary pass).

Despite these constraints, a rich and diversified offer has brought audiences back to theaters, even if some spectators are missing.

Canceled in 2021, the Les Incontournables UGC festival, with the editorial staff of the

Figaro

group , is back. From January 12 to 18, 2022, at the single price of € 3.50 per seat, it allows you to (re) discover 17 feature films that marked the past year. Some were great successes, others would have deserved to be seen by a greater number of spectators. Popular or arthouse, these films have in common their originality. They come from all over the world.

Drive my car

, just awarded the Golden Globe for best foreign language film after its Screenplay Award at Cannes, confirms the talent of the Japanese Ryusuke Hamaguchi, seen in his first films (

Senses, Asako I & II

).

We travel from Iran (

The Law of Tehran

by Saeed Roustayi, best thriller of the year) to Norway (

Julie in 12 chapters

by Joachim Trier) via Finland (

Compartment n ° 6

by Juho Kuosmanen). The United States is making a big difference between

Nomadland

, by Chloé Zhao, with Frances McDormand on the roads of the American West, and

Dune

, a spectacular new version of Frank Herbert's novel by Denis Villeneuve.

In addition to the Palme d'Or

Titanium

, by Julia Ducournau, with an unrecognizable Vincent Lindon as a firefighter on steroids, the tricolor production is in the spotlight.

The Father

by Florian Zeller,

Les 2 Alfred

by Bruno Podalydès,

Annette

by Leos Carax,

Aline

by and with Valérie Lemercier,

Les Olympiades

by Jacques Audiard and the very beautiful

A story of love and desire

are on the program.

In Paris, four special screenings will see the filmmakers present their film: Audrey Diwan for

The Event

, based on Annie Ernaux's book, Golden Lion in Venice, (Wednesday 12), Yann Gozlan for the thriller

Black Box

( Friday 14), Xavier Giannoli for

Lost Illusions

, a splendid fresco taken from Balzac's masterpiece (Saturday 15) and Cédric Jimenez for

Bac Nord

, immersed in the northern districts of Marseille with the cops of the BAC (Tuesday 18).
