According to the current Regulation 5A(4) of the Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Masks) Regulation (Cap. 599I), eating or drinking in catering premises without complying with the requirements of Cap. 599F is not regarded as not wearing a mask reasonable excuse.

Therefore, in the catering premises, customers who eat or drink outside the table area or do not wear a mask when not eating and drinking can be subject to a fixed penalty of $5,000 for violating Section 5A(1) of Cap. 599I.
