Today, the United States set a world record for the number of coronavirus infections.
Reuters quoted the US health authorities as saying that at least 1.35 million new infections with the Corona virus were recorded during the past 24 hours, the highest daily number recorded by any country in the world, while the pandemic continues to spread in the United States unabated.
The authorities indicated that the average number of cases recorded during seven days doubled to 704,000 daily cases in the past ten days, while the average number of deaths reached 1,700, up from 1,400 cases during the past weeks.
For its part, Australia is witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of infections with the Omicron mutated, reaching about 1.1 million cases since its spread, and more than half of this number has been confirmed during the past two weeks.
And Daniel Andrews, Prime Minister of Victoria, indicated that there is great pressure on the health system due to this increasing number of injuries, pointing out that there are about four thousand hospital workers and 400 paramedics are currently subject to isolation.
