An 18-year-old was on a real chase with the police.
The Germeringer was finally stopped on the Lindau autobahn.
Germering / Gilching - On Tuesday evening shortly after 10 p.m. the police wanted to check the driver of a Smart in the Augsburger Strasse / Dorfstrasse area in Germering.
However, the driver ignored the signals from the police and tried to evade control.
He drove initially at an appropriate speed, later at excessive speed, through Germering and then in the direction of Gilching-Geisenbrunn, according to a police spokesman.
Their attempt to stop the Smart in the turning hammer on Zeppelinstrasse in Gilching failed: The 18-year-old dodged and drove over the sidewalk.
He then left the roundabout in the opposite direction of travel.
A public bus had to brake to avoid a collision.
A helicopter is also tracking the Smart
The smart driver continued his escape on the A 96 motorway in the direction of Lindau.
Several patrols and a police helicopter chased the Smart.
The 18-year-old undertook several daring driving and overtaking maneuvers, which did not result in an accident, according to the police.
The officers wanted to stop the fugitive again at the Inning junction.
Here too, however, the 18-year-old managed to evade it.
Shortly before the Greifenberg junction, police officers were finally able to bring the Smart to a stop.
The driver in charge, an 18-year-old Germeringer, was arrested without resistance.
Its passenger, an 18-year-old Germeringerin, was uninjured.
Various offenses
Due to the risky and reckless driving style, the driver can now expect criminal proceedings for endangering road traffic and, moreover, after he was not in possession of a driver's license, criminal proceedings for driving without a license. In addition, the license plates attached to the Smart were not assigned, which is why the Germeringer has to answer for an offense under the compulsory insurance law, the tax code and the misuse of license plates. An object that is subject to the Weapons Act was also found in the case of the driver. Therefore, in addition to the aforementioned criminal proceedings, he is also expected to report an administrative offense.
The Germering police also ask other road users who may have been endangered by driving the Smart to report on 089 / 894157-0.
