GAP - On Tuesday, January 11th, around 8:45 a.m., a patrol crew from the Murnau border police station could hardly believe their eyes.

On Münchner Strasse in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, they met a highly motorized luxury limousine, the driver of which was masked with a black balaclava.

As with a criminal, only the pair of eyes peered through two narrow slits.

His appearance gave the impression of a felon, and he was also reminiscent of a gas station robbery at the weekend in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The two investigators turned their patrol car around immediately and took up the chase at increased speed. You could still see the silver vehicle with Munich license plates as it turned into a nearby gas station and parked away from the gas pumps. Without refueling, the masked man entered the gas station building before the veil investigators could speak to him.

The operations center was informed immediately. Because the two officers were in plain clothes and therefore not recognizable as police officers, they followed the man. You could still see that he even went behind the counter and reached into the shelf. With sharpened senses and their hands on their weapons, they spoke to the man loudly. As it turned out, the 40-year-old only used the balaclava as a replacement for an FFP2 mask. He had forgotten this at home. He only planned to buy a new one because he would not have been able to go skiing without a protective mask.

However, he couldn't conclusively explain why he was pulling the balaclava over his face while driving.

He understood, however, that his masked demeanor was careless and careless and could have caused a certain panic.

As an apology, he said that he had reassured the cashier by saying that this was not a robbery.

His behavior constitutes an administrative offense and will be reported.
