The Ministry of Justice began investigating a serious information security case, during which an educational institution in Bat Yam threw personal files of students, including sensitive information about them.

The investigation was opened following a report of a school in Bat Yam, which dumped large amounts of personal files of students.

The files, which included a lot of personal information such as photos, questionnaires, psychological assessments and other personal materials, were discarded openly and accessible to all.

Following the report, the Ministry of Justice addressed representatives of the institution of education and the municipality with a demand to deal with the incident urgently and immediately.

The school in response collected the exposed materials but has not yet forwarded a report of a serious security incident, as required by the Privacy Protection Regulations.
