After not gaining a majority, the coalition abandoned the plenum today (Wednesday), losing to the opposition, which passed eight laws one after the other in a preliminary reading.
This follows the boycott declared by the RAAM party in protest of the JNF's planting program in the Negev.
The coalition, which initially removed a number of laws it had put on the agenda to avoid embarrassment, lost many bills, and eventually abandoned the plenum.
Among the proposals made by the opposition was that of MK Miri Regev to exempt young couples from VAT in the purchase of a first apartment, it was approved in a preliminary reading.
MK Nir Orbach, on the right, also left the Knesset at the beginning of the evening.

Yur Ra'am, MK Mansour Abbas responded to the plenary events and said that "there are no winners and losers, we are all together as citizens we will win when we plant hope and let the residents of the Negev live and earn a decent living."
Abbas added that "regulation in the Negev is in the interest of all of us, Jews and Arabs.
The coalition succeeded in passing Ahmad Tibi's bill, which stipulates that any police officer who performs his duties during a demonstration will use a body camera to document the incidents.
