On May 23, 1994, students in Ruppichteroth-Beiert (North Rhine-Westphalia) found several bones in the forest area "In der Mordkaule". The Kripo, which was then switched on, finally started the investigation into this find. The first investigations by the forensic medicine institute at the University of Bonn revealed clear indications of an unnatural cause of death. A homicide commission took over the further investigation. As the police now describe again in retrospect, this gave rise to indications that the person was still alive in October 1992. Accordingly, evidence initially indicated that it was the corpse of a woman between the ages of 20 and 30. The identity of the deceased could not be clarified at first. In the course of the cold case processing, the case file was prepared and handed over to the Bonn investigators in order to conduct the further investigations.

The investigators had published pictures of the clothes discovered at the site in September.

Case from "Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved": Bones could be assigned to Ernst K.

The further development of the forensic investigation possibilities finally led to the realization that the person belonging to the bone parts found was - contrary to the original assumption - a male person.

This first change was announced months ago and is not entirely new - but the identity of the man is.

As the police are now reporting, the deceased - 27 years after the find in a forest near Ruppichteroth - has now been identified: It is a man who was then resident in the Rhein-Sieg district. On February 19, 1990, the man, who was living alone, was reported missing to the police by relatives. According to the current state of knowledge, the then 25-year-old was last seen alive in February 1990. Ernst K., who was unmarried at the time, last lived in Siegburg and, according to the investigations carried out so far, is said to have also been involved in drugs. On the basis of a court order, the public prosecutor and the police are now publishing a photo of Ernst K. that corresponds to the appearance at the time the missing person was reported in February 1990.

The investigators ask for further information and ask: “Who saw Ernst K. in the period between February 1990 and the discovery of human bones in 1994 or had contact with him during this time?

Who can provide information about their living situation and / or how they deal with their personal environment? ”The Bonn Police's homicide squad receives information on 0228-150.

The "Aktenzeichen XY" team had a TV nightmare in November.
