The cabinet around Markus Söder met on Tuesday.

The resolutions were presented at a press conference.

The 15th Infection Protection Ordinance will be extended until February 9th.

It originally expired on January 12, but has to be extended beforehand.

The new resolutions will therefore come into force tomorrow, as State Chancellor Florian Herrmann said.

2G instead of 2G Plus: Bavaria takes a different approach to gastronomy rule

Unlike almost all other federal states, Bavaria does not have stricter corona rules for restaurants.

There will be no 2G plus there, in the Free State it will remain "as of today" with 2G.

For people with a booster vaccination, the 2G-Plus scheme will no longer need to test immediately - not after 14 days.

The cabinet decided that too.

There is also a corresponding relief for people with complete basic immunization who have subsequently survived a corona infection, i.e. for people with a so-called breakthrough vaccination.

For these, too, there is no obligation to submit an additional test in 2G-Plus areas (e.g. theaters, cinemas).

Schoolchildren over 14 years of age who are regularly tested for Corona in school also continue to be exempt from the obligation to provide evidence for 2G regulations.

The exception applies in hotels and restaurants, but also for sporting, musical or acting activities.

Bavaria is also implementing the shortening of corona quarantine and isolation agreed by the federal and state governments: In future, the duration of isolation for infected people and quarantine for close contact persons will generally be ten days.

Self-testing using a negative PCR or rapid antigen test is possible after just seven days - although you have to be symptom-free for at least 48 hours after an infection.

For employees in clinics and retirement homes, for example, a PCR test is mandatory to end quarantine and isolation, or negative rapid tests must be submitted daily for five days.

Schoolchildren as well as daycare and kindergarten children who have to be in quarantine as contact persons will in future be able to test themselves free after five days using a PCR or antigen rapid test.

The rules for contact persons who have a booster vaccination, have recently been vaccinated twice, have been vaccinated and have recovered or have recently recovered will be changed as soon as the federal government has implemented the necessary legal changes.

There will be talks with the responsible ministers here in the next few days.
