The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has successfully test-fired a new hypersonic missile under the supervision of DPRK President Kim Jong Un.
"The missile test conducted by the Academy of Defense Sciences is aimed at the final verification of the technical specifications of the hypersonic missile weapon system," the DPRK news agency said today.
The agency stated that the gliding warhead made the jump after separating from the missile, which was launched for a distance of 600 km, and then performed a spiral maneuver for a distance of 240 km, before hitting a target in the water 1,000 km away.
In this regard, President Kim, while witnessing the experience, encouraged the national defense scientific research sector to continuously enhance the country's war deterrent capabilities.
