According to the Munich police, the 28-year-old was slightly injured when the fire was extinguished.

The called fire brigade therefore no longer needed to intervene, the property damage remained low.

As can be seen in the report from the officials, the boy's motive should also be clear.

The police wrote:

“During the investigation at the crime scene, it became known that the eight-year-old son of the two obviously felt neglected because the parents had to look after a sick child.

The 8-year-old stated to a sibling and also to the police that he had deliberately set fire to the mattress on a sofa bed in the living room of the apartment.

The child was then initially placed in an appropriate clinic by the police.

The youth welfare office was informed and involved. "

The commissioner's office 13, which was initially responsible, moved to the scene of the crime and took over the investigations, which are now being carried out by the commissioner's office 11.
