The ranks on the warriors' clothing and the junior resistors will move from the collar to the shoulder • The new ranks will be made of silicone with Scotch stickers

Renewable: In the Border Guard it was decided to change the position of the ranks on the clothes of the warriors and junior resistors, and transfer them from the collar to the shoulder.

One reason: Warriors' complaints that iron grades cause injuries in the neck area.

The change began during the Border Police officers' course, in which cadets are asked to present new ideas for improving and advancing the corps.

Reut Nachmias, who enlisted in the border after a year of national service, is the initiator of the change. She completed a naval course, and from there she attended an officers' course, which she graduated with honors.

Nahmias was asked to present her idea regarding the improvement of the corps.

"I wanted to present a practical idea that would not stay on paper, but could be implemented," says Nachmias.

"I consulted with fighters on the ground and with senior officials who helped me develop the idea."

And what was the idea?

A new design that will make the ranks a little more prominent, on the one hand, and much more comfortable, on the other.

The familiar iron grades, Nahmias realized, interfere with the fighters during operational activity.

During operational activity ranks are broken, and with additional operational equipment, such as weapons and belts, they become less safe because they cause injuries.

Nachmias presented a simple solution: silicone grades with velcro stickers, which are attached to the left shoulder of the uniform.

At first it seems like a somewhat pretentious initiative, coming from a young cadet.

But fortunately, Nachmias got to present the new design to the head of the Border Police Logistics Department, Yaakov Lazar, who responded positively, and enlisted to help advance the idea.

Improve performance

"Without him, this would not have happened," says Nachmias, adding that the idea was presented to the border commander, Superintendent Amir Cohen, who approved the initiative, and is now in the process of production. , Says Border Police logistics officer, Aviad Gani.
