Homs Telecom completes restoration work for most of the damaged phone centers

Engineer Kanaan Juda, director of the branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Homs, announced that the construction and expansion of the main and subsidiary networks are continuing in a number of rural areas to improve the quality of communications, such as Khirbet Al-Hamam, the Ram Al-Anz Center, the two access units in Al-Ghazayla and Umm Al-Adham, and the implementation of optical cable repair works in the Al-Dameer-Palmyra axis within the Homs and Extension sector An optical cable to install a photovoltaic unit in the Ministry.

In a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin, Jouda indicated that the technical workshops are following up the maintenance of the main and subsidiary networks in the areas near the Al-Bayada center and the establishment of the main and subsidiary network in the Wadi Al-Dahab center and the popular suburb of Al-Waleed.

He said that the restoration of most of the damaged centers was completed in conjunction with the return of the people to them, where the Al-Bayada center was restored and a divider with a capacity of 4000 numbers was installed as a first stage, and the installation of lines for those wishing had begun. Also, ADSL equipment was installed in the youth housing units and Hazmieh and put into service, in addition to installing a splitter in Deir Ful, preparing the network and distributing lines to subscribers, indicating that work is underway to restore service to the Izz al-Din and Mahin exchange.

As for the FTTH project, which was launched in Al-Quwatli Center between Juda, 107 participants from the city’s economic activities and some citizens were served in the areas of Al-Dablan, Al-Hadara Street, Municipal Stadium Street and Al-Quwatli, pointing to the continuation of work to serve a number of new subscribers in other neighborhoods and areas in the city.

It is noteworthy that the number of telephone lines in Homs currently stands at 278 thousand, and the number of Internet lines has exceeded 151 thousand gates.
